Regional Business Manager – Central/West
Who We Are:
Aucta Pharmaceuticals is an emerging product development pharmaceutical company. Aucta is implementing a branded/generic hybrid model, generating both near-term product revenue and mid/long-term investment return. We aim to become a significant specialty pharmaceutical company in the U.S. marketplace integrating R&D, manufacturing, and commercialization. We focus on improved dosage forms for patients with a therapeutic focus in CNS, Ophthalmology, and Inhalation areas.
Aucta successfully launched its first branded product, Motpoly XR, in the epilepsy space with a targeted sales force in mid-February 2024. We are now expanding our commercial presence in the neurology/epilepsy sector by increasing our field sales territories to 20. Our objective is to enhance our marketing, managed care, and sales capabilities to support future pipeline products in neurology over the coming years.
Position Description:
The Regional Manager is responsible for driving sales activity within their assigned region. This role involves maintaining and growing existing businesses, as well as identifying new business opportunities. The Regional Manager is accountable for achieving revenue targets set for their sales representatives and will provide leadership to both field-based and inside sales teams.
This position requires leading a region to meet all assigned goals while ensuring compliance with Aucta’s policies governing field sales activity. Reporting to the National Business Director, this role is remote-based within the designated region.
The Regional Manager position is field-based and can be located in Chicago, IL, Dallas, TX, or Houston, TX. The territory includes various states within the region, with major metropolitan areas encompassing the following regions:
Chicago, IL and Indiana
Dallas, TX and Houston, TX
Cleveland, OH and Cincinnati, OH
Phoenix, AZ
Central CA and South CA
Seattle, WA
Louisiana

Who You Are:
Energetic Pharmaceutical Sales Leader with a competitive spirit and experience in new drug product launches, preferably in the Epilepsy/Neurology space. You are an award-winning people leader with a track record of success managing up to 10 direct reports. You have at least five years of sales experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical industry. At a minimum, you bring three years of pharmaceutical sales management experience along with a Bachelor’s degree.
This role will require the ability to travel overnight as needed, with an estimated overnight travel of approximately 70%
Primary Responsibilities for this Role:
Oversee regional sales force operations, encompassing coaching, recruitment, training, professional development, performance assessment, and adherence to corporate policies. Consistently deliver assigned sales targets while strategically aligning field activities with brand initiatives.
Collaborate with Sales Operations to manage the input and analysis of physician and customer profile data, ensuring optimal resource allocation within the region.
Set clear expectations and assess compliance with Aucta’s Regulatory Standards and Promotional Policies for all members in the assigned region.
Effectively allocate and manage the regional budget, including overseeing expenditures, forecasting financial needs, and optimizing resource allocation to meet strategic objectives
Successfully work with cross-functional team members to drive performance.
Set clear expectations for the utilization of approved promotional resources.
Communicate competitive market intelligence to brand teams and management.
Travel extensively within the region, including overnight travel as needed, estimated at approximately 70%, to meet with team members and clients.
Lead succession planning, diversity initiatives, aspirational goal attainment, talent retention endeavors, and external talent pipeline development.

Required Qualifications for this Role:
Bachelor’s Degree Required
Minimum of 5 years of sales experience within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or medical industry.
At least 3 years of pharmaceutical sales management experience with documented leadership and top performance accolades.
Demonstrated success in cultivating high-performing teams, prioritizing culture and compliance, achieving excellence in product launches, and exhibiting strong leadership skills.
Proficiency in aligning the vision and mission of the region with corporate objectives and revenue goals.
Ability to meet and/or exceed quarterly sales goals consistently.
Exemplify the utmost professionalism and ethical conduct as a role model for the team
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, including the ability to analyze and manipulate sales data, use formulas for data analysis, generate reports, create impactful presentations, and develop targeting strategies based on the data.
Possess strong presentation, organization, administrative, and communication skills.
The candidate must possess a valid driver's license and demonstrate the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle for field visits with customers. Additionally, the candidate's driving record must meet the safety standards established by the Company
Must be able to participate in regular airline travel and overnight stays as needed for the role and territories within the region

Salary Range
Aucta Pharmaceuticals considers a combination of the candidate’s education, training, experience, location, external market, and internal value when determining a salary level for potential new employees where you can use your experiences, perspectives, and skills to help make an impact on the lives of others.
Base Salary: $150,000 - $170,000 per year
Bonus Incentive: Target of $60,000 per year
